Straight answers to the things men ask most before installing Brotherhood.

About the app

What is ADHD Brotherhood?

Brotherhood is a regulation and execution app built specifically for men with ADHD. It is not a productivity app, a habit tracker, or a motivational platform. It is a practical tool for the moments that matter - when you are shut down and cannot start, when the spiral is beginning, when you need one clear next step, and when you want to build something real over time.

The app has five sections: Home, You, Tools, Grow, and Settings. Every section earns its place or it would not be there.

Who is Brotherhood actually built for?

Adult men with ADHD, roughly 25 to 55. Men who are recently diagnosed or who have been self-identifying after years of struggling. Men who have tried other apps and found them shaming, built for someone else, or useless in the moments that actually mattered.

Brotherhood is built for men who are skeptical of tools. Who value directness and competence over cheerleading. Who do not need another reminder that they have ADHD - they already know. They need something that helps.

Is this a productivity app?

No. Productivity apps try to optimise your output. Brotherhood is built for regulation and execution - getting the system stable enough to function, and then helping you act. The distinction matters because most productivity advice fails men with ADHD at the exact moment they need it most.

When you are dysregulated, overloaded, paralysed, or in a shame spiral, a task list does not help. Brotherhood addresses that layer first.

Does it have any shaming, streaks, or punishments?

No. Never. That is one of the non-negotiable laws the app is built around. No streak punishments. No guilt messaging. No manipulative urgency. No dark patterns.

Discipline Builder is built specifically around fast recovery - the philosophy is that the man who comes back quickly builds more real discipline than the man who restarts from zero every time.

Getting the app

I have an Android phone. How do I install it?

Download the APK from the App page. Android may ask whether to allow installs from that source - allow it, this is normal for direct APK files. Open the downloaded file from your browser's downloads or the Files app and install it. Brotherhood will then appear on your home screen like any other app.

I have an iPhone. How do I get Brotherhood?

Open the web app link from the App page in Safari on your iPhone. Tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen. Give it a name and tap Add. It will appear on your home screen and behave much like a native app when opened from there.

This is an interim solution while the App Store version is in development. It covers the full app experience.

Why is there no App Store version yet?

Brotherhood launched Android first via direct APK while the full App Store submission is prepared. The Google Play Store version is being finalised now. The Apple App Store version comes after the Android launch establishes the subscriber base.

The web app is not a workaround - it is a fully functional version of Brotherhood that iPhone users can use immediately and access from their home screen.

Is it free?

Yes. The core app is free. Brotherhood has a free tier that includes the full Safety Net, regulation tools, priority system, Start Now, and a useful core of Grow topics. There is no trial period, no card required, and no content locked behind an aggressive paywall.

Bro+ is the paid tier (£6.99/month or £49.99/year) and unlocks deeper Grow content, transformation paths, scripts, and the advanced layer across the full app. The upgrade is offered inside the app, without pressure.

Privacy and data

What data does Brotherhood collect?

Brotherhood is a local-first app. Your data - priorities, check-ins, wins, discipline records, medication settings - is stored on your device. There is no account required to use the free tier, and no data is transmitted to external servers for app functionality.

Bro+ uses RevenueCat to process subscription payments securely. That interaction is handled by the payment system, not Brotherhood itself.

Is my mental health data shared with anyone?

No. Information about your emotional state, check-ins, medication, wins, crisis patterns, or any other sensitive data in Brotherhood is stored locally on your device and is not shared with third parties.

What happens if I lose my phone or change devices?

Currently, Brotherhood is local-first. Your data lives on the device. Cloud backup and cross-device sync are planned for a future update after a proper account and recovery system is built - we are not rushing this because a fragile sync system would be worse than no sync system. For now, your phone's own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone) will preserve app data through device changes and restores.

Bro+

What does Bro+ actually add?

Bro+ unlocks the deeper layer across the app, most notably in Grow. Free Grow topics give you real recognition, relief, and a first-step action. Bro+ unlocks the full transformation content - scripts, guided repair paths, richer action systems, and the deeper operational manual for each pattern.

The goal is that free changes your day. Bro+ has the potential to change your relationship with your ADHD over time.

How do I upgrade to Bro+?

Inside the app, from Settings. When you tap into a Bro+ feature, you will see a clean single screen explaining what it does and why it matters, with one button: Join Bro+. There are no lock badges, no greyed-out disabled states, and no aggressive upsell patterns.

Can I cancel Bro+ at any time?

Yes. Bro+ is a standard subscription managed through Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). You can cancel at any time through your device's subscription management settings. There are no cancellation fees or retention flows.

Troubleshooting

The APK won't install on my Android. What do I do?

Android requires you to allow installs from sources other than the Play Store. Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps, and allow your browser or Files app to install. Then try the APK again. This is a one-time permission for direct APK installs.

If you are still stuck, email us at adhdbrotherhoodapp@gmail.com with your Android version and what you see on screen.

The web app doesn't look right in my browser. What should I try?

For iPhone: use Safari, not Chrome or Firefox. The Add to Home Screen feature only works properly from Safari, and the web app is optimised for Safari on iOS.

For Android: the native APK will give a better experience than the web app. Use the download route instead.

Something is wrong with the app. How do I report it?

Email adhdbrotherhoodapp@gmail.com with: your device, what screen you were on, the last thing you tapped, and what happened. Screenshots are welcome. We respond to every bug report from beta users.
